Eczema and Lymphatic Drainage Massage

The Lymphatics (Lymphatic System) play an important role in chronic conditions that make up the bulk of healthcare worldwide. Eczema is one of those conditions and something I see frequently in clinic.

Eczema can be triggered by a variety of factors, both internal and external. And it often signals deeper health issues, like an overactive immune system, impaired lymphatic function, and gut dysbiosis (imbalances in the gut bacteria).

When the Lymphatic System is functioning correctly, interstitial fluid enters the lymphatics, becoming “lymph,”. During the transit of lymph through the lymphatics, lymph carries antigens and antigen presenting cells to the draining lymph nodes where immune activation is established (assisting the Immune System and why there is such a close link between the Immune System and Lymphatic System). Finally it empties into the subclavian and/or jugular vein to replenish the venous circulation.

It is believed that external triggers such as food proteins, dust, animal dander, pollen, and changes in weather conditions can impact eczema. And environmental triggers like toxic cleaning products, perfumes, cosmetics, mould, and electromagnetic fields can impact your body’s Lymphatic System and also worsen eczema symptoms.

Lymphatic Drainage Massage is often recommended by Naturopaths, Nutritionists, Integrative GPs and alike to assist in the management of eczema. This gentle style of massage stimulates your lymphatic system, it helps improve circulation and blood flow, and aids in removing waste products and toxins that can irritate your skin.

Over the years I have had a number of people seek Lymphatic Drainage Massage with me to help reduce their Eczema symptoms naturally.

If you are interested in making an appointment for Lymphatic Drainage Massage you can do so in Clifton Hill and Fitzroy, Melbourne.
